“zahgidiwin/love” is a dark comedy about trauma, genocide, and decolonization amidst an era of Truth & Reconciliation.

Using the collective culture of contemporary colonial Canada, the play is set across three time periods of Canadian history: a residential school in the ‘60’s, a murderer’s basement in the ‘90’s, and a castle in the postapocalyptic future. Through a kaleidoscope of theatrical styles, the play explores the ramifications of trauma across generations, and searches for what a decolonized nation and decolonized theatre might look like.
